The Story

Their summer issue titled ‘Objects of Affection’ - 160 pages of design, architecture, style, and visual arts.

Family Style describes itself as ‘a fantasy dinner party in the form of an arts and culture journal.’ While the name is borrowed most obviously from the style of shared eating, it is also inspired by the congregation of a shared discourse.

Guest editor and open-fire cooking pioneer Francis Mallmann (page 21) guest edits their sophomore issue, themed 'Objects of Affection'. Consider it Family Style's design issue but, more broadly, 'it's a consideration of materiality and our relationship with it. How are the pieces we own and the spaces we inhabit an extension of our own person? And how can they transform it?'

Founded in New York and edited around the world by alumni from the United Nations, Vogue magazine, and The New York Times, Family Style focuses on creativity, community, and cuisine through print editorial, digital content, and immersive experiential affairs.
